If ever you are thinking of helping a senior Airedale ....

Rusty, Finally an update!
Yes, I Know!!! Again a long time since update! We finally closed the show....
For those who follow, here are your updates....
We have not had a bad day since week 2 (I think my praying payed off! I am sure I was not alone thanks to everyone who followed the "Big Guy") I have included a lot of photos for you to enjoy. Tuacahn cut these for us!
He is doing great! Bogart has become a part of our family. Or maybe we have become his family... I don't know, However Miss Rusty (SWAT) has agreed to let him spend the rest of his days with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WWWWHHHHOOOOOTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!
I guess we (Bogger & I) would not know what to do without each other. So I do like older Men after all, just don't tell my Hubby! (LOL)
I will keep in touch and send photos as they become available.
Thanks so much to SWAT, Miss Rusty, Tuacahn, All who are Supporters & Followers,,,,, I had never even met an Airedale before this experience, however I hope I will always have one in my life.
If I can send a message to any person wanting a Dog to join the "Family" A Senior Airedale may not be with you for 20 years but 100 years of memories will most certainly be your reward!!!

We're doing GREAT ;-) and we met a CAMEL !!

Hey there!
I know…. It’s been a long time since my last update. SORRY!
The Big Guy is doing great. He was able to take a couple weeks off from work while we rehearsed for “Aida” It was a much needed rest. He loved every minute with the exception of the Vet’s check up. (which he passed with flying colors)
Grace “Annie” has gone back to Chicago, IL for school so we now have new “Annies” we rehearsed with Anna Carothers who is the understudy for Annie and did one show with her while we waited to meet our new Annie Ellie Smith.
We offered an opportunity to travel with both girls to many of our local schools promoting the Arts. Bogger was a perfect ambassador for the Arts & for his breed. Both girls love him and are learning the art of becoming an Airedale handler. (just a little challenging when he weighs as much as they do) Fortunately he has really relaxed on the stage and goes through the show like an “Old Pro”.
We will be rehearsing with Ellie Smith today and performing the show this evening. Boggers work load is much lighter through the fall as we added a show. Only 10 Annie shows left before we close for the season. If you have been putting off seeing the show wait no longer or you may miss out….
I wish I could do more on stage photos or a video but we are an Equity stage so not allowed.
We received the Camel for “Aida” just over a month ago. I really thought Bogger would have some kind of “Wowed” reaction to the new guy but an inquisitive sniff was as far as it went. I will try to get a photo of the two together. (I think they look a lot alike…LOL)
I have included some photos hope you enjoy them. Photos include: School visit with Anna ~ Hanging out on Orphan beds on stage pre-show ~ With Ellie in the dressing room ~ Chilling on Warbucks Mansion set peice ~ Final dress with Grace at begining of season.
Hope all is well on your end!

The Heat in this part of the Country .....

The heat is killing us too. We have an AC unit in our tack room. the Bog's likes to hang out in there. Any time I ask where he is (unusual because he shadows me most of the time) My team always giggles..... "He is in his trailer" ;-)

Airedales Will be AIREDALES !!

Week one went perfect!! I could not have asked for better!
Week two Hhhmmmmm?
To start: Bogart really does not want to be in show business.... Even more oddly he is now NOT treat motivated.... (I even tried skipping breakfast one day.)
So we spent week two with him (the little sh##) waiting patiently for Annie to call him and then getting up and leaving. The Police Man had to catch him and add-Lib
"Well it is just as I thought, not your dog but it might be good if you take care of him"

We re-set the scene and the Orchestra gave me direct access to him without being in the sight of the house. Things have been going MUCH BETTER!!!!!
We did have to cut him from Curtain Call (because we are out doors so at the "Curtain Call" we do Air Lifted Fire Works) He is afraid of the Fire Works. (Understandably) ....
Things are again going great!

Disney Rep's were in the house tonight so I am interested to hear what they have to say.
But I have not heard anything yet....

All in All he is really starting to warm up and dig's the attention over any treat. (Believe Me I have searched High and Low for the most tasty treats)
It has been a team effort from cast and crew to just get their hands all over Bogart; telling him what a genius he is after each scene! Butt scratching is considered the most high reward!!!!

Grace "Annie" is almost as good a Butt scratcher as I am .... I can tell because when we see her, Bogger approches her from the rear first?????

Airedales ;-)

I just placed a boy that is a younger version of Bogart. His name is Booker!
This quote reminded me of those two ;-)

An Airedale, erect beside the chauffeur of a Rolls-Royce,
Often gives you the impression he's there from choice.

Bogart Starts Rehearsals

Bogart has met his Annie's and has started rehearsals.
He has his first press release and photo shoot coming up.
National Airedale Rescue and SouthWest Airedale Terrier Rescue Group will be listed in the Play Bill.
The BIG adventure has started !!
Tuacahn had a blanket party for the children and Bogart was front and center ~ being loved by all.
Our fingers are crossed that Bogart will learn his parts and not wander off the stage. ;-) So ..... Aire Zen to Bogart!

Week 4 for Boggie

Boggie is doing great! His stamina is improving ALOT!! He is becoming very attached to me; which is of course quite flattering. Gage say's: "Mom you need to leave him with the Vet when you can't take him because I think he is going to have a stroke". LOL
This is a photo of Boggie and Porsche (My Daughter and assistant Wrangler at Tuacahn) at the front entrance. Today is really cold so we could not stay out long.

The First Week in a nutshell from Kimberlee

Just wanted to give a first week update:
Everything is going great! The whole family is "Head over Heels" for Boggie.
He is not only going to be a Star but he has appointed himself a "Super Hero" protecting us from the evil vacuum cleaner, saving us from the dreaded job of cleaning up any food that may end up on the kitchen floor & loudly warning at the first sound of the dangerous door bell. LOL!
This "Super Hero" job has also included the self appointed tasks of becoming the horses personal trainer. (I think by next week I may be able to kick back with some Bon~Bon's & a Mimosa while he exercises them.) But most importantly he has taken the task of helping to babysit the niece & nephews (ages 1-7) when they come to visit. (It is the sweetest thing to see him worry over them) I can tell he will get on great once our "Annie" cast comes to Tuacahn.
I will send more photos as they become available.

Bogart's First Day at Tuacahn

Willy (the Bay) has starred in "Cinderella", "Beauty & the Beast", "Les Miserables"
Willy was amazed by Bogart!
Max (the Paint) "Local Goober" has nothing to brag about yet.
But we are very hopeful
Bogart was not at all "Star Struck" & chose to enjoy the warm sun & sand.

Day 2 ... Kimberlee says:

Last night was a breeze with Bogart. I think he and I will have a good relationship, he has already become my shadow. Today we will make our first visit to Tuacahn. Tuacahn is closed today so it will be a good introduction to the new place. Tomorrow we will begin with a few introductions.

Zoey (white) "Les Misrables", "Big River"
Zuke & Zobra (red) "Big River"
Also new family members for Bogart. All four seem to be doing really well together.
I dont think I have the words to say how hard it was to get this photo!!!
